September 8, 2006 - Major update to the website.

We have completely changed the look and feel of the website to make it more consistent. We hope you like it.

Most of the information found here remains the same. We have updated the information about the 2006 Reunion and have added photos to the Reunion section of the Photo gallery. More information is coming as soon as I can get it together. Thanks to everyone who has sent information to me for posting on the website

For the time being we have stopped trying to keep the Newsletter updated due to lack of time. I just don’t have the time to devote to it while I try to work and maintain the busy schedule that I have at the present time. Therefore we have returned to this page to keep you abreast of what is happening with the 818th Website. The old Newsletter can be found here if you with to read the old editions

August 20, 2004 - Minor update about the 2004 reunion.

We have made a minor update to our website.  We have added photos and an article about the 2004 Reunion held in Milwaukee, WI  We look forward to seeing you at the 2004 reunion!

July 1, 2003 - Update to rosters and added more photos.

We have made a minor update to our website.  We have added 18 new photos and updated the rosters to reflect the latest information we have received.  We hope you enjoy this update.  Thanks to all who provided the photos and information. We hope to have another update soon. We look forward to seeing you at the 2003 reunion in Knoxville, TN!

January 17, 2003 - Major Update

You may have noticed, we have made a changes to the look of our web site. We wanted to project a more patriotic feel to the web site. Be assured out mission has not changed of preserving the history, providing information and honoring those who served in the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion.

We have added many new photos in this update. Thanks again to everyone who has provided us with all the nice photos by email, letter and posting to this web site. Please keep them coming we look forward to receiving them. We will try to get them on this site as soon as possible.

We have also added a lot of new information about the 2003 Reunion coming up in Knoxville Tennessee, July 30, 2003 thru August 3, 2003. Click here to see what’s new.

November 28, 2002 - Added 2003 Reunion information and more photos.

Thanks to everyone who provided us with the new photos we added on this update. Most of them can be found on Hdq & Hdq Company Photos Page

We added an article about tour to San Marino, home to the family of General George Patton, during the 2001 Reunion. It has interesting details and photos about the reunion.

We added a page to our site where anyone can easily make a donation to help support this web site. If you wish to make a donation click here to learn how.

We have also added a new addition to our web site devoted to the 2003 Reunion. There you will be able to find the latest information on the Reunion coming up July 30, 2003 in Knoxville, TN. It will be hosted by yours truly and is going to be a great one. check it often as we will be adding new information as it comes available.

September 9, 2002 - Added award.

September 2, 2002 - Added new features.

We have just added two great features to our Photos page. You can now submit your photos directly to the 818th website. Just follow the simple on-screen instructions to submit your photo and we will consider adding it to our website on our next update. The other new feature is a Photo Slideshow that randomly displays photos that can be found on our website.

August 24, 2002 - Added 2002 Reunion Photos and Info.

The 2002 Reunion is history. A great time was had by all who attended. We’ve added an article about the Reunion and 34 new photos have been added. We hope you enjoy them.

June 09, 2002 -  Minor Update

We have made some changes to the rosters to bring them up to date and to correct some errors and omissions. If you have additions or corrections to the rosters please contact me.

May 2002 - Added additional information on the 2002 reunion

We have received some new information on the upcoming reunion in Yankton, SD. We added a page that has the registration form some additional text and a brochure about the Corn Palace that we will visit. Click here to read all about the reunion.

April 2002 - Site Updated

We have just completed our third major update to the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion Web Site! New features include:

(1) Several changes/corrections to the rosters. As always, thanks to Oscar Gingrich for his work on maintaining the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion Association Roster.

(2) 20 new photos that have been provided by the Vets and families of the 818th. Please keep those photos coming. If you have a good wartime photo of yourself and/or your buddies send me a copy and we will consider using it in the next update.

(3) A new Widows of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion roster page.

(4) Three newspaper articles on the 1964 reunion in Russell, KS, the 1965 reunion in Knoxville, TN, and the 1983 reunion in Minneapolis, MN.

(5) Additional text for seven of the photos that was not previously available. Thanks to the family of Anthony Tambini, Krysty Melton (granddaughter of Thomas Kuebler), and Patrick Clarke of Northern Ireland for the information they provided.

Thanks to everyone who has visited the web site in the last six months. We appreciate your comments and interest. If you can help out anyone who has left a request for information on the "Message Board" please do so. These folks are looking for help just like I was a year ago.

Keep signing the Guestbook. It is especially interesting to see the names of 818th vets and their notes there. We are also very pleased with the number of family members who are visiting the site.

If you have additional information on the 818th you would like to share, contact me or send me a copy and we will consider adding it to the web site.

Finally, I would like to thank Wally and Beverly Wilken. Their kind words and support for the web site are always encouraging. Thanks also to Mason and Lorena Carter for their support. Mason continues to provide me with information and articles on the 818th and TDs. Thanks to Curtis and Juanita Crook who provided several of the photos used in this update and several more that we will use in the next update. February 2002 - Site Updated

     We have just completed our second major update of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion Web Site! New features include:

(1) Several changes/corrections to the rosters. Including 27 names I had left off of the A Company roster.

(2) 22 new photos that have been provided by the Vets and families of the 818th. Please keep those photos coming. If you have a good wartime photo of yourself and/or your buddies send me a copy and we will consider using it in the next update.

(3) An interesting article on the history of the Tank Destroyer Forces (on the Documents page).

(4) 12 new links on the Our Favorite Sites page that will take you to some interesting web sites that deal with WWII, Tank Destroyers, or the 818th.

(5) We have added a new “Tell A Friend About Us” button on the home page to make it easy to let your friends know about our web site. Just click the button, enter your friends email address and we will do the rest to let him know about our web site. We respect the privacy of everyone who visits this site. We never share your personal information with others without your consent.

(6) We have changed the look and arranged the layout slightly to make the site easier to navigate.

 17 November 2001- Site Updated

     We have just completed our first major update of the 818th Tank Destroyer Battalion Web Site!

New features include:

     (1) a "Name Search" button which should help those looking for information on specific individuals.

     (2) a short introduction and several changes/corrections to the rosters.

     (3) 21 new photos that have been provided by the Vets and families of the 818th. Please keep those photos coming. If you have a good wartime photo of yourself and/or your buddies send me a copy and we will use it in the next update.

      (4) a collection of 20 "Memories From the 818th Td Bn" in the Vets own words. These are some revealing thoughts from the men of the 818th on what the war was like for them.
